Welcome Owls!

This tutorial is for new Owls and for Owls who have a new device. These modules will walk you through the process of setting up your computer for use at school.

Important!

Adults, please let your student drive this entire process so your student learns to setup and manage their device. You are welcome to sit next to them, but please let your student click all the buttons and complete every step of the process on their own. If they need help, walk them through how to do it rather than doing it for them.

Students, if your adult gets a little over-excited and tries to do something for you instead of helping you do it yourself, try a patient and polite "please let me do it myself" request!

Instructions

To complete the tutorial, click through the modules and follow the instructions on each step. Move through the module by clicking the Previous and Next buttons at the bottom of each page. If you run into any problems, email tech@overlake.org , call 425.602.7007 or drop by the tech office in the Technology and Language Center (TLC) for support.

Step 1 - Updating your computer

All of the steps below require a fully up-to-date computer. Please update your machine before beginning.

Step 2 - Setting up your computer

If you are a new student, you will be invited to a campus orientation:

Please complete the New Student Module and the Microsoft Office Module BEFORE your orientation.
We will complete the On Campus Services Module when your student comes to the technology orientation.

If you are a current student with a new computer:

Please complete the Microsoft Office Module (at home or on campus) and the On Campus Services Module (must be completed on campus)
